Devices

How signed-in Macs work, the per-team device limit, and signing out a Mac remotely.

  1. 1Two Macs signed in (the Free/Driver limit)
  2. 2A third Mac tries to sign in
  3. 3Pick a Mac to sign out
  4. 4The new Mac is in; the old one is signed out everywhere

How it works

When you sign in from the app, that Mac becomes a signed-in device for 30 days (it renews quietly while you use it). Each team gets 2 Macs per member; Crew can buy extra slots.

Relaunching the app or updating it doesn’t use a new slot; the same Mac is recognized.

Hitting the limit

If you sign in on a Mac when all slots are used, the app shows your signed-in Macs and lets you sign one out to make room. You can do that for your own Macs up to 3 times a month; a team admin can sign out anyone’s from the portal.

Signing out a Mac you don’t have

Lost a laptop, or left one at a rental house? In the portal, Profile → Devices lists every signed-in Mac with its name and last-seen time. Sign out on any of them. The next time that Mac contacts the server it’s logged out and asked to sign in again.

Offline

The app keeps a signed note of your plan for 7 days so the tools you’re entitled to keep working without a connection. AI and notifications need the server.
