Toolbox
Instruction sets you can reuse, and folder templates so new projects start organized.
- 1Save an instruction as an instruction set
- 2Run it on any folder with one click
- 3Folder templates create a whole project structure
Instruction sets
An instruction set is a saved Crankshaft instruction (or a short list of them) with a name. Run it on any folder with one click instead of retyping.
Create one: Toolbox → Instruction sets → New. Give it a name, write the instruction(s), optionally a description. Save.
Use one: in Crankshaft, pick it from the instruction sets list, review the preview, Apply.
Ideas: Offload tidy (group by camera, rename with date), Deliverables (move finished exports into a dated folder), Archive prep (remove empties, junk and proxies).
Folder templates
A folder template is a structure you want every project to start with, for example:
ProjectName/
01_Footage/
A-CAM/
B-CAM/
Audio/
02_Project/
03_Exports/
04_Deliverables/
Create one: Toolbox → Folder templates → New, then type the tree. Apply it to any location to create the folders in one go. Cranky can also apply templates when you ask for “a new project folder the usual way.”
